Artwork, poetry, textiles, woodwork and a tapestry, all on the theme of the Magna Carta were on display when The Lord Lieutenant of Essex, Lord Petre visited Forest Hall School in Stansted Mountfitchet, on Tuesday (June 23).

As he arrived, the school choir sung to him. He was shown round the school by the head boy and girl, Bradley Adams-Stock and Rosanna Terry, looking at work all on a medieval scheme, including purses, and desk tidies made in the shape of crowns, shields and thrones. There were also cakes and biscuits made with ginger and honey.

Lord Petre unveiled a tapestry of Stansted Mountfitchet through the ages sewn by the women of the village.
