POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a robbery that took place at the White Court Co-op in Great Notley on Saturday December 2.
A man dressed in a royal blue boiler suit and wearing a balaclava entered the store at about 8.25pm and threatened two female shop assistants with a six-inch knife.
The robber stole cash from the till and a bottle of whiskey and cigarettes. The women were uninjured.
The man is described as being about six feet tall, of stocky build and with a local accent. He escaped in the direction of Queenborough Avenue.
Police want to speak to anyone who was in the area prior to the robbery or saw where the robber went after the leaving the store.
Det Sgt Greg Potter, leading the inquiry, said: "Did he get into a car, has anyone seen any discarded clothing? We really need the public's help in tracing this robber."
