Schoolchildren in Dunmow learnt about poems from haikus to The Owl and the Pussycat for National Poetry Day.
Pupils at St Mary’s Primary School read poetry to their parents and even found that famous quotes had been graffitied on school buildings.
Each year group focussed on different styles and eras – year three looked at the stone age and year five looked at Indian poems. One child said: “This school has gone poetry crazy.”
