TWO LUCKY readers have scooped themselves £250 each in cashafter completing reader surveys in the Saffron Walden Reporter and Dunmow Broadcast.

The two newspapers were inundated with responses and have now chosen two winners to benefit from cash prizes just weeks before Christmas.

Winner Katharine Irons, of Dunmow, said: "I'm really chuffed at wining this prize.

"Being so close to Christmas it is a welcome buffer to my funds and the good thing is that I can spend it locally so we all benefit.

"I've always read the Dunmow Broadcast. My mum even sent me copies to Australia when I lived there so I could keep up on the local news.

"I have advertised in it, sent articles overseas from it and now won something from it - quite a relationship really."

She intends to spend her money in Profiles and 64 Hair Salon.

Patricia Rustea, of Ickleton, was equally delighted with her win. She said: "I'm delighted. I've been reading the Reporter since it began and find it to be a very personable paper, which keeps us in contact with what's happening in the community."

Marketing manager Amanda Brook said: "I'd like to thank everyone who completed the surveys as we have been inundated with responses, which has been fantastic.

"The surveys have given us valuable insight into how readers view the paper and given us many ideas on areas, which we feel will benefit our readers even more."

She also said she was pleased the winners had chosen to spend their £250 in the shops in Saffron Walden and Dunmow, because it gave 'well deserved support to the local retailers'.
