More than 50 people attended the launch of a village church’s fundraising campaign.
Organisers want to raise at least £50,000 towards the projected total costs of £280,000, the rest of which, it is hoped, will come from grant bodies.
On July 12, the Bishop of Colchester, Roger Morris, helped the congregation of All Saints Church, in Rayne, formally launch the appeal and spoke about how modern church facilities can be used to serve the community and those in need.
The evening was attending by 60 people who tucked into cheese and wine and viewed animated displays which explained the refurbishment plans.
Visitors could also see the church’s newly-acquired record of its heritage, completed by Felsted Church Recorders.
