ACCESS to the Puffin Pre-School at Foakes Hall has benefited from more than £22,000 of improvements.

The new entrance was officially opened by Chairman of Essex County Council Gerard McEwan on Thursday morning (Feb 21).

Before cutting the ribbon in front of invited dignitaries, guests and children he announced that it gave him great pleasure to declare the new access officially open.

He said: "It is a marvellous thing to have and a shining example for others to follow."

The development was made possible by three substantial donations, £11,000 by Essex County Council, £7000 by Great Dunmow Town Council and £4000 donated by the Puffin Pre-School Group.

Cllr Michael Miller said: "I am grateful to the councils for their help in enabling the hall trust to make Puffin Pre-School Group accessible to disabled children.
