A STAGE production has grown so big that the stage has had to be extended by approximately three feet.

Wethersfield Village Hall will host Fiddler on the Roof from March 6 to March 8 and rehearsals for the shows have started already.

After a sneak preview of the show, it is easy to see why the stage needed the extension. Jessie Threadgold, one of the show's 38 performers said: "People come from all over the Dunmow area to perform and rehearse from ages 12 and upwards."

The Wethersfield Amateur Performers are responsible for the show.

"It started locally and has really grown, now we have to extend the stage

to fit everybody in," said

Ms Threadgold.

The show looks like it will be worth the effort as well, "We are right on target to make the show our best one yet, rehearsals started months ago but we now have to dress the stage and make costumes to make it look really great."

There will be four performances of the show starting at 7.30pm each night with a matinee on the Saturday at 2.30pm, tickets are priced at £6.50 for adults and £5.50 for children and they are available at Wethersfield Post Office.
