Success has sizzled from sausages made in Hatfield Broad Oak as the company scoops a top prize.
Broad Oak Farm Sausage Company was awarded first place in the ‘Best Hot Dog’ category at the BPEX Foodservice Sausage of the Year competition, held in London last week, after scoring highly on taste, texture and appearance.
Chris Simons, from Broad Oak Farm Sausage Company, said: “It’s great to scoop first prize in the Best Hot Dog category for our Smoked Hot Dog. The variety was only developed about 18 months ago, so to win an award is a great achievement and shows our hard work has paid off.
“Given our success at the Foodservice Sausage of the Year competition it would be great to develop new hot dog varieties going forward.”
