THE Diamond Jubilee was a special occasion for everyone, but for one student it took an added significance after she received a letter from the Queen.
Ford End Primary School student Chiara won a competition run by the parish council to design an emblem for Diamond Jubilee memorabilia. The Year 5 student won the competition and her design was printed on a mug.
The story doesn’t end there though…Chiara decided to send the mug to Queen Elizabeth II and to her surprise she received a thank you letter back from the royal family.
“I didn’t expect to get anything back,” said Chiara.
“My mum is going to frame the envelope, my letter and the letter I got back so I can keep it.”
