The Rotary Club of Saffron Walden would like to thank publicly the huge generosity of the people of Saffron Walden and surrounding district. During the two weeks preceding Christmas the amazing total of £4090.69 was collected in our street collection. This year we shall, as usual, be distributing all this money to local charities amongst whom will be Saffron Sight who help visually impaired people and have over 120 members in this area. Every penny given goes to the various causes. A full list of beneficiaries will be published within a few weeks. We are especially mindful of the generous nature of our townspeople who have already supported our efforts both after the Asian Tsunami and the earthquakes in Pakistan, all during the space of a year. Our grateful thanks to everyone.MARTIN GUNNRotary Club of Saffron Walden
