Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal road accident which happened two weeks ago in Dunmow.

The road traffic collision was on Tuesday, February 14 at around 9.50am on the B184, Woodside Way. The driver of a Ford Focus was travelling along the B184 at Woodside Way in Great Dunmow when the car left the road colliding with a barrier.

The driver, who was the only person travelling in the car at the time, a 77-year-old man from Great Dunmow, who has been named as Ian Douglas Reddish, was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge and died there on Sunday, February 19.

Firefighters from Leaden Roding and Stansted were called to the scene and crews worked with paramedics to release the driver from the car. He was out of the vehicle by 11am. Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone who saw what happened.
