POLICE are making a fresh appeal for witnesses and information that could identify this man who was caught on camera leaving the scene of a burglary.

More than £1000 worth of tobacco and £380 of cash was stolen in the break-in, at the Nasda Stores, in The Street, Rayne, in the early hours of Tuesday June 13.

Donning pink rubber gloves to conceal his fingerprints, and wearing a blue Nike Athletic hooded top and dark blue tracksuit bottoms, the man was spotted by a neighbour while he was leaving the burgled store.

The witness had noticed the burglar passing items through a broken window to a man waiting outside and became suspicious of his behaviour.

Police believe there were at least two people involved in the burglary.

An Essex Police spokesman said: "We are keen that anyone who recognises this man gets in touch with us immediately."

Anyone who knows the man in the picture or who believes they can identify him is asked to contact investigating officer PC Liam Fuller at Braintree Police Station on 01376 551312. When doing so please quote CCTV reference 054.
