Seven brave ladies from Dunmow Crests Netball Club tackled the muddy challenge of a trial run for this year’s 6k Nuclear Rush Obstacle Race.
The trial is part of the club’s preparation for the annual event, which this year takes place on May 11. All money raised is split between The Farleigh Hospice, British Heart Foundation and Cancer Research UK.
The Nuclear Races are set in the former secret Nuclear Estate in Kelvedon Hatch, Brentwood. Participants attempt everything from mud pits, lakes and tire walls, to zip wires across the muddy Essex farmland.
Claire Smith, Dunmow Crests captain and 6k participant, said: “The 10 of us decided to take on this challenge as a fun way of getting fit together, whilst also raising money for three important charities.
“We know that the May event is going to be tough, and this weekend’s trial has been a brilliant way of giving us a taste of exactly what lies ahead.”
