The parents of a boy robbed while walking home from Dunmow Carnival have thanked the Round Table for giving him a generous gift.
Ollie Bell, 12, had everything but his trousers and the goldfish he had won at the event taken when two people allegedly robbed him by Ash Grove on September 21.
Dunmow Round Table decided to use some of the money raised from running the carnival bar to give the Helena Romanes pupil a £100 gift voucher to spend at Freeport.
His mother, Tracy Bell, said: “We would like to say a massive thank you to the Round Table. It is good to see how this has brought out the best in people.
“Ollie also wants to say a big thank you and express how grateful he is. ”
Tracy also thanked the anonymous business who doubled the reward money for any information which would lead to a conviction.
n A 16-year-old boy from Clacton and a 21-year-old man from Dunmow have been arrested on suspicion of robbery. They are on bail until October 23 pending further enquiries.
