STAFF and members at Great Dunmow Leisure Centre have played a huge part in raising over 9000 for Sports Relief.

With the help of its sister centre in Saffron Walden the grand total was raised after more than 300 people turned up to run one, three and six miles routes.

Contract manager Beckie Reynolds said: “The Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile was a great success and fun day was had by all. We are delighted to have raised so much money for such a worthy cause and can’t wait to get involved again in 2012.”

A whopping 9,011.52 was verified this week and every single penny of it will be spent by Comic Relief to help disadvantaged people, both at home in the UK and across the world’s poorest countries, to turn their lives around.

Work on Sport Relief 2012 is already well underway and both Lord Butler and Great Dunmow hope to host events again.
