Oak trees in Finchingfield and Great Bardfield included on legacy map of Diamond Jubilee project

OAK TREES in Finchingfield and Great Bardfield have been included on a legacy map to celebrate the completion of a Diamond Jubilee project.
Braintree District Council has planted more than 70 trees in parishes and wards as part of the Jubilee Oaks Legacy.
The project was launched last year, as part of the council’s Green Heart of Essex campaign.
Cllr Wendy Schmitt, cabinet member for the environment, said: “It has been really rewarding to see so many parishes and wards get behind this initiative and especially to see communities coming together to plant their celebration oaks.”
The Legacy Map, which shows every location of the 71 Jubilee Oaks, will be on permanent display at Causeway House Council Offices at Bocking End, Braintree and can also be viewed online at greenheartofessex.com.
Photograhic records of the tree planning events from around Braintree can also be seen on the website.
