DUNMOW and District Probus Club has welcomed in its new president for the year.

Adrian Hoodless was handed the chain of office at a special lunch.

He takes over from Robin Kelsey and will oversee the 20th anniversary year of the creation of the club, which has 60 members and holds meetings once a month at the Farmhouse Inn in Monk Street.

Mr Hoodless said: "I am delighted to be the new president of this club with its proud history and ever-growing membership. I look forward to taking the club and its members into 2010."

Mr Kelsey said: "I have enjoyed the past year and wish Adrian all the best as he takes up the position, it certainly was an honour for me, and I'm sure he feels the same."

Probus clubs cater for the interests of retired or semi-retired professional or business people. Each club is autonomous and the movement is now almost world wide.
