A NEW-look garden, crafted by the hard work of volunteers, was unveiled last week at Broomfield Hospital.
The Mayor of Chelmsford Alan Arnot officially opened the therapies garden that had received a major makeover.
Commenting on the garden, he said: “As a hospital patient myself it is lovely to come along and see another element of hospital life.
“The garden looks lovely and I am sure it will be enjoyed by many people.”
Trust chairman, Professor Sheila Salmon, said: “This really is a new beginning, as we have restored the garden to how it should be.
“This means it can now be enjoyed by many different people and will really make a big difference to them.
“We couldn’t have done it without the help of these kind volunteers, and I would like to pass on sincere thanks on behalf of the trust for all that they have done.”
The garden is being used by patients from the wards and the therapies department. It is hoped some staff will be able to hold their team meetings there in the summer.
