The new head boy and girl at a Great Dunmow school plan to bring the pupils even closer together.
Gus Maby and Beth Carrick, both in Year 13 at The Helena Romanes School & Sixth Form, want to encourage the main school and sixth form to be integrated.
The pair, who had to give a presentation to their year group before being given their roles, are beginning their work by organising social events for the whole school to attend.
But, the roles are sending the students on their own personal journeys, too.
Gus, 17, of Great Dunmow, said: “I am improving as a person all the time. We are doing lots of speeches and each time I do one, it’s like a new experience which I am learning from.”
