A CANDLELIT concert filled Felsted chapel with magic on Sunday night as pupils from the school performed Mozart's Requiem Mass and Bernstein's Chichester Psalms.

The 20-strong Felsted School Chamber Choir teamed up with Amadeus, a group of musicians from Cambridge University and the Royal Academy, to produce a wonderful performance for a crowd of around 200.

Led by conductor Huw Daniel and soprano Alexandra Marshall, Ryan Hepburn performed Mozart's Fantasia and Fugue in F Minor on the organ followed by some jazz-infused Americana in the way of Chichester Psalms.

The choir then sang a rousing full-scale rendition of Mozart's timeless classic the Requiem Mass delighting the assembled crowd with a grand finish.

Performer Ryan Hepburn said: "It was a great night, in fact just one of many great nights that this year's arts festival has produced. The works performed on the night are some of the most popular and recognisable works of all time."

The Felsted Arts Festival has become an annual event running for nearly two weeks between February and March.
