The annual duck race organised by 1st Rayne Scouts took place on Easter Monday with 1,260 ducks being released into Pod’s Brook and floating down to the derelict bridge – where the brook narrows – raising over £1,000 for the scouts. They were helped by scouts along the way when the ducks got stuck.
The event, watched by about 150 people on the day took place after a lot of rain.
Beaver Scouts leader Roman Kukiewicz said: “The water was high and fast but that was good for the ducks.”
