Missing Finchingfield man Michael Bell has been found this morning – and will soon be reunited with his family.
He was found just before noon, a little over two hours after a member of the public, who had seen media coverage of Mr Bell’s disappearance, reported seeing his car at Fingringhoe, near Colchester.
The witness reported seeing the black Nissan Note – index number EX11EOO – at the end of a farm track.
But the vehicle drove away before police arrived a few minutes later.
The search by police and family members and friends was then focussed on the Fingringhoe and Colchester areas.
Mr Bell 57, was last seen at his home in Finchingfield at about 3pm on Tuesday November 18.
He is known to enjoy being in open countryside and also regularly walked on beaches and promenades beside the sea and rivers.
Mr Bell also enjoys being beside the sea and regularly walked on beaches or promenades at Frinton, Walton and West Mersea.
His wife Jane, other relatives and friends also held a separate search of the remote pathways and tracks around Finchingfield this morning.
They had a camper van on the playing field off Stephen Marshall Avenue and handed out maps to volunteers.
