A two year campaign supported by the community has raised enough money to allow 1st Thaxted-Carver Scouts to buy their own minibus.

The wheels represent freedom - and will ensure Beavers, Cubs and Scouts can get out and about!

Group Scout Leader Rory Wilson said: "Without the local community, our members and their parents, our funders and the support of Carver Barracks none of this would have been possible.

"We cannot wait to get out on the road on our next big adventure.

"We have had a year of virtual Scout meetings and we are now finally back together doing activities face to face."

Some of the fun has included Go Ape, rock climbing and camping, teaching practical skills such as cooking and first aid, and employability skills such as leadership, teamwork and problem solving.

Rory said to give them a wave if you see the minibus.
