GUESTS at a lunch hosted by Cllr Frank Silver, Town Mayor of Great Dunmow, were treated to a real thriller at Foakes Hall on Sunday.
The function was held by Cllr Silver to say thank you to the people who have supported him in his year as town mayor. Entertainment was supplied by some of the town's talented young performers.
In his thank you speech, Cllr Silver said: "There are so many people who have helped me during my year as Dunmow's mayor and I feel that I can't say a big enough thank you."
Opening the entertainment were 75 dancers from Scene II Theatre School who performed a routine to Michael Jackson's Thriller. They danced not just on stage but also among the seated diners.
Lauren Headley, a talented singer and Helena Romanes School pupil performed a toe-tapping set. Her rendition of The Carpenter's 'Close to You' had people singing along.
The afternoon's show culminated in a comedy sketch performed by Glenn Ruben in which
Cllr Silver, who did a fantastic job of playing a comic version of himself, was put on trial for raising too much money during his time as mayor.
The afternoon was compered brilliantly by Mike Smith.
