SCENE II theatre school ended the last of their summer workshops at Dunmow Primary School, with a performance of Alice in Wonderland.
Among those who were wowed by their outstanding talents was Great Dunmow town mayor, Frank Silver, who booked them for a fund-raising production of Bugsy Malone on
December 2.
Mr Silver said: "I was absolutely amazed when I attended the performance of Alice in Wonderland. The acting ability of the large cast made up mostly of very young children, excellent scenery, costumes, added together made this an outstanding success.
The winter production of Bugsy Malone will be staged at Foakes Hall and will see half of the profits going to the Mayor's Community Fund and the remaining 50 per cent to the part-time dance and drama school.
"The entire audience was enthralled at this event and at the end they were given the encores that they so richly deserved," said Mr Silver.
He added: "This is a new group under the principal of Jacky Rom who has very ambitious plans for her group and I can see it will prove to be something that Dunmow will be proud of.
