A MAN was lucky to escape with minor injuries when his car left the road and rolled into a field near Thaxted on Friday.The 61-year-old London man's Peugeot 206 came off the road at the junction between the B1051 and Folly Mill Lane, between Thaxted and Elsenham.A call made to the emergency services at 7.30am led to an ambulance and a paramedic manager being dispatched to the scene.Essex Ambulance Service senior manager, Neil Storey, said: "When we arrived, the car was lying driver's side down in a field. The driver had managed to get out of the car himself prior to our arrival. He had been on his way to work in Suffolk."The man was complaining of chest pain and had suffered minor cuts, bumps and bruises.He was taken by ambulance to Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford.
