WORKERS at Stansted Airport could find their jobs under threat after airport operator BAA announced plans to cut jobs last week.
The announcement came after the publication of the results from a efficiency review. However, a company spokesman has insisted that the job losses will not affect airport security or the current level of customer service.
A report in The Times newspaper last Thursday suggested that up to 2000 jobs could be at risk - a figure the spokesman rejected.
BAA, owned by Spanish construction firm Ferrovial, owns Stansted, Gatwick and Heathrow. Their spokesman has insisted that there are currently no plans to sell off any of its airports.
The review is still on-going. BAA has not detailed where the job cuts were to be made.
