ALMOST £2000 was given to three local charities by the Dunmow Inner Wheel Club at the Saracen's Head Hotel last Wednesday.

Sheila Lipson said: "We have held a number of very successful fund-raising events over the year and it was lovely to see representatives from the charities collecting their cheques.
"A collection outside the Tesco supermarket in Dunmow was very successful, with shoppers being very generous and putting lots of money in our tins.
"We also held a very well attended lunch at the Angel Lane day centre.
