On Wednesday March 7, the Inner Wheel Club of Dunmow held a business meeting at the Saracen's Head Hotel. President Brenda Smith opened the meeting with a special welcome to Celia Rhodes, a new member who has transferred from the Hornchurch Club. Secretary Pam confirmed that all tickets have now been sold for the Annual Charity Lunch and that all arrangements are now in place. Brenda reported that the club already had five teams for the Inner Wheel Quiz and more teams of eight would be welcome. Anyone interested can ring Brenda Smith on 01371 870335. Tickets are £7 each including supper. Then it was time for the election of officers for the year 2007/08 and those elected were: president: Olga Burrell; vice president: Sheila Lipson; club correspondent: Brenda Smith; secretary: Gill Towler. Those continuing in office were secretary: Pam Fox; treasurer: June Thomas supported by Joyce Ruhl; and overseas organiser June Milne. During June Milne's overseas report she listed those charities she would like us to support with donations of £100 each:- George and Marion Mills, Felsted Aid, Faith in Action, Sparrow Village - Africa, Jaipur Limb Project, Mercy Ships UK, St Matthews Children's Fund Ethiopa, Timothy Mission - Africa, and Fancy Stitch - Africa. The remaining £75 within the overseas fund to be available for any overseas emergency. All agreed this was an excellent division of the money raised. June has already started to organise the club's 2007 overseas evening in the late autumn with an Indian theme. Another item the club has to look forward to is a weekend away in the Stamford area in April 2008 planned by the new president Olga Burrell with help from June Milne.

The next meeting is a Faith Supper event at Pam Fox's home on April 4.
