GOLFERS from Felsted School are delighted to have secured a place in the Independent Schools Golf Association national finals for the first time.

The team, made up of Will Gwyther, 17, from Braintree, Tom Copnell, aged 18, from Great Waltham, and Philip Konig, aged 16, from Koln in Germany, were up against golfers with far less handicaps than themselves but still managed to win the qualifier 2-1.

The UK final will take place next month at Oulton Park, Leeds with five counties all competing for this prestigious award.

The format of the final will be 36 holes stroke play scratch and this will certainly be a challenge for the boys.

Richard Feldman, master in charge of golf at the school said: "The boys have done amazingly well to get this far and I wish them every success in the next round.
