The majority of the Uttlesford electorate has voted in favour to leave the European Union.
In the referendum yesterday (Thursday), voters were 50.7 per cent in favour of leave and 49.3 per cent voted to remain.
The number of votes cast for leave were 26,324 and the number for remain were 25,619. There was a difference of 701 votes.
The turnout was 80.3 per cent - the highest in East Anglia so far.
Votes go towards the national total and the result is due later this morning (Friday).
