A FOURTH giant flower pot has been added to the tally stolen on one night in Dunmow.

Last week The Broadcast reported three ceramic pots stolen from a garden at South View, Dunmow the previous Sunday night.

Now Dennis and Mary Bull, of Berbice Lane, Dunmow, have come forward to say that one of their two turquoise ceramic pots was taken the same night from their front step.

Mr Bull said: "I hadn't noticed it had been stolen until I went out to water the fuchsias the next morning. They don't come cheap, it was a really large, heavy pot and would have taken more than one person to lift it. I also think the culprits must have used a van as these pots are too big to put into a car boot."

Mrs Bull said: "It's such a shame. We've lived in Dunmow for years and never had problems in the past. We do have another identical pot but won't be putting it out now, it's just not worth the upset and bother.

"You don't expect to have things stolen from your front garden and having to consider locking your plant pots away at night."

The couple added: "It's a lovely area and people here take pride in their front gardens, so it's a shame for them now to be left bare now this summer.
