TWO huge ornaments have been stolen from a privately-owned country manor in Great Saling. A heavy bronze globe and its stand and a grey stone urn were stolen from the front garden of Saling Hall, The Street, between midnight on March 22 and 8.30am on Marc

TWO huge ornaments have been stolen from a privately-owned country manor in Great Saling.

A heavy bronze globe and its stand and a grey stone urn were stolen from the front garden of Saling Hall, The Street, between midnight on March 22 and 8.30am on March 24.

Pc Sarah Brunt is leading the hunt for the thieves. She said: "The ornaments are extremely large and would take two people to move them before taking them away in van.

"Someone must have seen something."

Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward. Anyone with information should contact Braintree police station on 0300 333 4444.
