The vote for the Dunmow Neighbourhood Plan will be on Thursday, November 3, at Foakes Hall, the Dourdan Pavilion, United Reformed Church, and Great Dunmow Primary School.
Referendum polling cards will be arriving through letter boxes next week.
People will vote on Dunmow Town Council’s plans for the development the town, including housing, community facilities, footpaths, sport and recreation, healthcare, and education. It will be legally binding for Uttlesford District Council (UDC) if accepted. If the result is no, planning applications will be considered only in line with UDC’s Local Plan.
The Neighbourhood plan is different from UDC’s Local Plan because it is by Dunmow residents for Dunmow whereas the district document looks at wider issues rather than the town’s views.
The plan can be seen at Dunmow Library, the town council offices at 47 Stortford Road, or UDC offices in Saffron Walden. For more information visit www.dunmowneighbourhoodplan.org.
