HATFIELD Heath County Primary School is one of the county's most outstanding schools according to an Ofsted report published this week.
It is the highest benchmark of success that a school can receive from Her Majesty's chief inspector of schools, Christine Gilbert.
Headteacher John Clements said: "It's very nice to have all of the hard work everyone has done recognised by other bodies and for them to say well done. We got outstanding grade one in every area the inspectors looked at.
"Now we must study what we did to get those scores and make sure we can do it again."
The news comes at the same time that it was announced the Hatfield Heath Pre-School was to move from its current home in the village hall, to its own premises within the primary school.
Janice Prior, leader of the pre-school, said: "Having a dedicated building in the grounds of the primary school will give the children the feel of being in a proper school environment enjoying permanent facilities."
Mr Clements said: "The pre-school already share our facilities, but this will bring us closer together, like having the whole family in one place."
The new building will be situated slightly away from the main school building within its boundaries and will consist of one main room, the play area, along with a kitchen, toilets and an office.
It will remain independent from the primary school.
The finance for the new facilities was boosted by a recent donation of £10,000 came from BAA as part of its community programme that supports local schools. The building is due to be completed by 2008.
