A Hatfield Broad Oak playgroup run by volunteers has celebrated its one-year anniversary.

The Stay and Play group, which is for nursery-aged children, celebrated with a birthday cake, handprint bunting and party songs during circle time on March 3.

During the sessions, which run on Fridays mornings at Hatfield Broad Oak Village Hall, children enjoy arts and crafts, themed activities and refreshments.

Former committee member Gabrielle Troke said: “The Stay and Play group has offered an amazing place for parents, grandparents, carers and their young children to come play, meet friends and be a part of the community.

“The committee has worked tirelessly to raise money and provide the stay and play for all to enjoy. Our party was a huge success, with the committee inviting everyone to join the fun.”
