ALMOST half a million people visited Duxford Imperial War Museum in 2005, its most popular year yet.

Duxford's head of marketing, Frank Crosby, said: "We have worked hard over the last year to provide both an educational and enjoyable experience for our visitors, and they have spoken with their feet."

The museum welcomed 462,972 people, including its 10-millionth guest, who went to the museum in August.
