Talented youngsters from Notley Green Primary School have won a junk modelling competition, run by Braintree District Council.
The winners, Ella Burton, 8, and classes 1GS and 1S, ages 5 to 6, fought off competition from over 300 other children at 54 other primary schools across the district.
Run during National Recycle Week, children were asked to create models out of pieces of rubbish.
Councillor Wendy Schmitt visited Notely Green Primary School on Friday (July 17) to present prizes to the winners; Mister Maker craft kits and certificates for those involved and a craft session for the winning classes.
Cllr Schmitt said: “You can see from the models that the children really care about their environment. The designs are just brimming with enthusiasm and inventiveness. The competition has encouraged the children to think about how everyday recycling can be reused to create something wonderful.”
