Finding time for yourself in today’s hectic world is not easy, but third-time author Deborah Coote has a quick fix to hopefully relieve people of their stress.
The 50-year-old has self-published her most recent book, The Art of Meeting Your Self: Learning to Live Mindfully in a Busy World.
It is a light-hearted piece dealing with the challenge of living well in this day and age. It can be read in less than hour and introduces the reader to life skills that could stay with them for a lifetime.
Deborah, who lives in Great Easton with her husband John and their two dogs, said: “Through my work as an Alexander Technique and meditation teacher, I have come to know many people who feel dissatisfied in some way with life, they feel stressed or have some kind of pain.
“So my response has been to write a practical and warm book that encourages the reader to put themselves first – not easy in our culture and way of life, but fantastic when we do manage it.”

Becoming a writer and a meditation teacher is very different to how Deborah thought her life would turn out. She spent more than 20 years working in a bank before making quite a big career change.
“That is the wonderful thing about realising your potential, if somebody told me I would be writing books I would have said that is not possible,” she added. “I have absolutely loved it though. When you find the right thing for you, the right energy is there.”
