OVER 200 people filled Great Dunmow's High Street yesterday (Sunday November 8) to pay their respects to those soldiers who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
Remembrance Sunday provided a sombre and quiet atmosphere for a half-an-hour ceremony, including a two-minute silence at 11am, officiated by St Mary's church vicar Rev David Ainge.
A very respectful crowd only broke silence for a spontaneous round of applause in appreciation of war veterans who marched their way up New Street just after 11.15am for a further service at the United Reform Church.
