Pupils at Great Dunmow Primary are “a credit to the school”, says its headteacher following a glowing report from government inspectors.

The Woodlands Park school has been rated ‘good’ by Ofsted in its latest inspection, with the behaviour and safety of the pupils rated as ‘outstanding’.

Executive headteacher Sylvia Ruck was delighted with the result. She said: “It reflects the hard work and commitment of all the pupils, school staff and Governors. Our school has always been a happy learning environment where children are nurtured and encouraged, ensuring that they thrive and achieve in all aspects of school life.

“The children are always very polite, respectful and enjoy their learning. We are very proud that the behaviour of the children has been recognised as outstanding, as they are a credit to the school.”

Highlights from the report include pupils being ‘eager to learn’ while the headteacher, staff and governors were praised for ‘working successfully to improve teaching and ensure achievements continue to rise’.
