A NEW competition to the Dunmow District girl guides highlighted the many talents of the local guides, brownies and rainbows.
Twelve acts consisting of a trumpet player, a violinist, singers, dancers, gymnasts, a poet, Hula Hoopers and a comedy show, took part in the Has Girlguiding Got Talent at Barnston Village Hall.
And they did not disappoint with a very high standard of talent wowing the three judges and the audience.
The three winners were: In third place Tabitha Weston and Eleanor Layton-Joyce from 1st Barnston Rainbows with the Chick Chick Chick Chick Chicken song.
In second place Jessica O'Connor, Grace Evans and Sophie Hipperson from 3rd Dunmow Brownies with I wish I was a punk rocker.
And in first place Georgina Moxon and Rosie Coopersmith, from 1st Barnston Brownies, with a comedy cooking show.
At the very end the audience were treated to a song from all the guiders and assistant guiders.
The competition was such a success that it will become an annual event.
