GREAT Dunmow Primary School is is throwing open its doors and inviting parents, friends and neighbours to come to its school gardening party.

The event is part of the Royal Horticultural Society’s (RHS) Get Your Grown-ups Growing project, and is being held on Saturday (October 9), from 9.30am to noon.

Activities will include digging, bulb planting, vegetable planting and children’s activities.

The national day is a way of encouraging parents, grandparents and other grown-ups to help their child’s school to get gardening. Hundreds of pupils, parents and teachers across the nation will be joining together over the month of October by holding a Get Your Grown-ups Growing event at their school.
