A series of crimes have occurred in Great Dunmow since the beginning of the month.

Both incidents involved suspects unknown to police, but details of the stolen items have been revealed.

The first theft concerned an engine part; a £1,800 catalytic converter stolen from a secured Mercedes Sprinter between 5pm on Friday, July 3, and 5:30am on Monday, July 6, in Ongar Road.

In the second theft, £4,000 worth of power tools were taken from a Ford Transit during the night of Tuesday, July 7, near Chelmsford Road.

An attempted burglary was also made on a house in Willow Road between midday and 2:15pm on Sunday, July 5. The suspects tried to break in using a jemmy-type implement on the front door but were unsuccessful. Marks were left on the doorway and surrounding frame which was valued at £200.
