FINCHINGFIELD May Fayre proved as popular as ever despite the best efforts by the weather to put a dampener on the event.
Opening with the traditional parade through the village, the event was officially opened by actress Kara Tointon who plays Dawn Swan in BBC soap opera EastEnders who thanked everyone for coming along. She then signed photographs and posed with fans for their own personal photographs.
A display by the Red Barrows display team added a flash of colour to the proceedings and wine tasting by the Sandyford Vineyard helped keep visitors' spirits up.
David Vaughan, chairman of the Finchingfield May Fayre committee, said: "All the money raised on the day will go to good causes in the village. We haven't finished counting it up yet but I know we made a good profit for them.
