THERE was a full house at a Dunmow residential home last week for a community bingo evening.
Oakroyd House, which opened last September on Oakroyd Avenue, was the venue for a well-attended bingo evening.
It cost nothing to play, and a prize of a meal for two at The Boar's Head pub in the town was up for grabs.
Dunmow's mayor, Cllr Frank Silver, said: "This was the second bingo evening that we've held. "It was very successful and everyone there really enjoyed it. About
24 people came along, and I'm sure the winners of the meal will enjoy their prize."
Since Cllr Silver took on the role of mayor of Dunmow he has been running a very successful fundraising campaign.

While previous mayors have usually raised around £3000 in a year, Cllr Silver has already raised £12,000 in his first two months in the position.
The money collected under the Dunmow Mayor's Charity Fund, will be distributed to worthy local causes, which will be invited to apply for it at a date to be announced.
