FLOOD water across the Dunmow area has receded back to almost normal levels following Tuesday's deluge.

All roads have reopened but further light rain is expected today before sunny spells at the end of the week.

Dunmow's deputy town clerk said: "The fields are still saturated so any further heavy showers could result in more flooding, we need some sunny weather to dry out the Chelmer Valley and let the river return to normal.
