THE sky was filled with the colourful sight of sparkling stars and the sound of exploding rockets at the Great Dunmow fireworks display on Saturday night.

Hundreds of people packed onto the recreation ground to witness the spectacular display, organised by the Dunmow Round Table

Essex Pyrotechnics set off the fireworks that had the crowd gasping in amazement. There were plenty of whizzes, bangs, flashes and sparkles to keep everybody entertained.

Spectator Arnold Walker said: "Once again the tablers put on a fantastic display. The selection of fireworks was second to none and I'm looking forward to the next one."

The fireworks were set off in time to music by Pete Sparks of Sound-one Events and a giant bonfire was lit.

Other entertainment included funfair rides, various stalls and refreshments.

All the money collected at the event will be put towards good causes in the community, decided by the Round Table.

The organisers thanked everyone who helped to make the display possible and all the people that turned up to make it such a success.
