A number of homes were flooded in Thaxted on Saturday (June 25).

Firefighters from Thaxted were called to Barnards Field at 7.39pm to help numerous households affected by the downpour.

The crew used a pump to clear the flood water from the homes and also dug a trench to divert flood waters into a drain.

Firefighters had finished by 8.25pm.

A number of roads were also blocked due to flooding, including between Finchingfield and Bardfield.
