Picnic lunches in the grounds of Feering Community Centre were enjoyed by members who attended the Spring One Day School arranged by the Essex Federation Committee for WEA branches across the county. John Hart and Mary and Stephen Ogle had chosen "The Geology and Building Stones of Essex" with tutor Ken Newman; Andy and Honor Hynd and David Walmsley, "Frustrate their Politicks" with Roger Cooke; and Pauline Hart, Wynne Malpas, Harold Nutter, Mary Perry, Peter Whitman and Joyce Woodhouse, "Manet to Picasso" with Graham Slimming.
